Virgin media contact

Was wondering.

I recently received a telephone call which my son answered the alleged agent informed him that they have detected a fault with my broadband and that he needed to go on to playstore and download an app to allow access to check for faults.

His first reaction thankfully was to end the call as sounding wrong as he wasn't account holder and no security questions were asked.

What is virgin media knowledge of this sort of procedure.

I have got the app 2 of them one says good service the other will not work with Hub 4.

VM do not make unsolicited calls offering technical support. Any such calls out of the blue are scams.

Also VM would never require remote access to devices. Never allow any such callers remote access.

Sorry to hear you experienced this scam call. As mentioned by @goslow we would not make unsolicited technical support calls. You may find the following link useful https://www.virginmedia.com/help/fraudulent-calls.

Please let us know if the calls persist and if you need any further help.
