Security

At the end of 2020 I noticed an unauthorised  direct debit for Virgin Media for £8. Representatives of Virgin Media and Virgin Mobile denied that I had set this up. My bank has challenged this transaction and will reverse the DD.

Is this an individual attack on my online security, or part of the March 2020 security breach at Virgin Media?

Re: Security

Hi there @wenceslas51

Welcome back to our Community, sorry to understand that a unknown Direct Debit has been set up and taken.

I can assure you that no financial data or password we're part of the Security Incident from last year. All impacted customers and non-customers we're contacted directly at the time; you can read more about the incident on our dedicated webpage below

www.virginmedia.com/data

In regard to the Direct Debit, glad that you have already spoke with us and your bank. They should be able to cancel this DD for you and process the indemnity claim on your behalf.

Cheers

Katie - Forum Team
