Receiving someone else's email

So, on my old email account I am getting my dad's emails from VM, even though when he logs into his account all of the contact emails are his. not mine.

I tried contacting the phone support, but it is useless and after 30minutes of sat listening to disjointed musak I got disconnected.

Which email domains are involved; just the part shown after the @ character in the email address?

Which email client are involved, for example webmail, Thunderbird , etc?

Sign into webmail to confirm that there are no filter rules that could be responsible for the issue by:

  • sign into your father's webmail account
  • select and the Settings
  • select ▸ Email and then Filter Rules
    confirm that there are no filter rules forwarding messages to your email address

i've asked my dad to check his email and he said there are no filters setup.
His email is @ntlworld.com, mine is @yahoo.co.uk and we both use webmail

Are you getting all your father's emails or just some, for example from specific senders?

Does he see those email you received in his Inbox?

When did you first notice this issue?

The only emails I'm receiving are from virginmedia, subjects like "your VM bill is ready" and "a little reminder about your contract"
He isn't receiving them.
I only noticed a couple of days ago because I don't use that email anymore and only logged into it to get a password update email for something else. I searched and the earliest message is from october 2015,

Ask your father to sign into My Virgin Media > My Profile and check the Contact details section; should it be pointing to your Yahoo email address then to change it to his own.

My dad has checked, and he said that all the email addresses on that page are his own. mine isn't there at all

today is 1st of July, didn't receive any follow up from previous exchange. and am still receiving emails from virginmedia that are not mine
