I had to contact the VM team today to enable child safe settings - because it wouldn’t allow me to do it myself (just showed an error message). Having enabled those settings - and I can now see that they are enabled - it’s making no difference at all. Inappropriate web search and porn are still showing up.

Are they cached / saved images from previous tests? Try an incognito browser session.
Is a vpn being used on the device?
Have the dns settings on the device been changed?
Is the VM connection being used rather than mobile data?

Virgin Media's Web Safe service is reliant on use of their DNS. To check this open a web browser:
Be aware that Web Safe does not redirect you to a search engine's safe search page where results are strictly moderated

I am sorry for the issue with your Child safe option.
I can see you have been given the correct advice above, have you tried any of the suggestions given? Did they work if so?
