Can't change password to login to virginmedia.com

I have tried about 8 times now to change my password, I enter a valid password (only letters and number between 8-10 characters. It says updating and pops up that it has emailed me to confirm the password change, I log out and can only log back in with my old password, new one doesn't work.

It's the password I login to my virginmedia with, I am going to My Profile/My details under the very first section Username and password.
