Re: no signal in France

Hi JamesK3,

Thanks for your post and welcome to our community 🙂

Can you confirm if you activated roaming before you left the UK? If so, can you sign into your online account to check that it's showing as active?

Re: no signal in France

Are you able to perform a manual network selection and select all of the available networks in turn?

Can you check if you are able to connect to any of them please?

Did you receive a welcome text from us when you arrived in France James?

Re: no signal in France

no welcome text.

i have tried manually accessing all available networks. none connect.

sometimes VERY briefly i have seen SFR connect when automatic is selected but with zero bars and am unable to call or receive calls. No service appears pretty quickly.

I am with other English friends who all are on french networks with no problems.

i also checked the network settings as directed on your site and all appear correct

Re: no signal in France

I go to France 3 or 4 times a year and have the same issues. My wife can get a signal with her o2 phone and I always have problems. Was there a solution to this?

Re: no signal in France

Hello EddyR1

Thanks for taking the time to raise this via the forums, we'll do all we can to answer your query.

Before leaving the UK to go on your travels we'd recommend ensuring that the roaming service is fully set up with ourselves. This can be done via calling the team on the usual number 789 or 0345 600 0789 or via your online account.

Once abroad a reboot of the handset once you have landed is always a good idea to refresh the connection, you may also need to ensure roaming is available and set up on the actual handset which will need to be checked via the manufacturer.

If you struggle to get a connection, try changing from 'automatic network selection' to 'manual'. You may also need to try this in different locations as the connection is completely dependent on the local networks availability adn signal strength.

Thanks

Rob
