my engineer didn't show up

Tuning in

had an appointment set between 8am and 1pm. No one came.

Day 8 if being a virgin media customer. No service at all since joining.

 

what should I do?

if it was not cancelled because of an area fault then you are due compensation of [afaik] £25 - not sure how you register for it - take it up with staff when you reply to the PM you are being sent
