all my neighbour's have virgin media I haven't I assume its because I live in an old Victorian house previous owner lived here from 1948-2017  and he refused the the insulation of Diamond cable back in the 90's. however due to the house being old I am also having to replace the main water supply due to it being lead piping is there any chance of getting a cable to my house installed in the same time frame? saving money for everyone due to less disturbance....

cheers

Do you have the small, plastic connection plate for cable TV in the pavement outside your house as per first photo here

https://www.diynot.com/diy/threads/catv-boxes-in-pavement-and-dropped-kerb-application.460212/

(may be other shapes/branding etc.)

Yes I have the larger one of the two outside my house.

Not so good. That is a main duct inspection cover, not a service tee. Looks like you will need construction work in the street as well as a cable being pulled to the house.

Is it possible? or not cost effective for Virgin Media? if so how do I go about having it installed?

Does your address appear on VM's postcode checker

https://www.virginmedia.com/broadband/postcode-checker

or are you trying to get it added by VM?

so my house is on the drop list, however when selecting my house it says not available in my area however both next door neighbours are along with every other address around me i have tried. the main green juction box is outside by my boundary wall as well, this is why im finding it a little strange/hard to find answers.

May possibly be a historical admin thing if the address had been blocked for some reason in the past due to the previous owner (access/wayleave permissions or something similar).

You'll need the VM forum team to investigate for you. They generally reply here within a few days.

yes I think it is down to the old owner not wanting his driveway dug up/dropped curb dug up, however im digging it up anyway along with the street for a new water pipe. so thats not an issue... just need Virgin media to install a cable. But Thank you for your help hopefully one of the VM Team will see the chat log and get back to me.
