Why do I have so many T3 timeouts?

Tuning in

Hi

I'm checking my Superhub 2ac network log and I have a lot of T3 timeouts as shown below. Frequently, my Superhub seems to be restarting by itself and has been dropping connections too. Any reasons as to why this may be happening?

Ah, I see

In this case then what's going to happen with all the T3 and T4 time-outs? Will I get an engineer sent out?

Only VM can answer the question regarding an engineer visit.

This thread has been flagged so it should be picked up soon (Probably tomorrow morning).

This is what happened in the first picture as I took the coax cable out of the hub 3 while unscrewing it. I pushed it back in the metal thingy (I don't know what it's called please correct me on this), and I fixed it for now. I think I also need a new coax cable.

Keep in mind, when I got my replacement hub 3, I didn't get a coax isolator cable, neither did I get a spare ethernet cable. At the same time though, I have a feeling my problems aren't caused by the coax cable. What do you guys think?

theres certainly a problem with the coax cable - it looks home made - the ends should be crimped on that looks like a DIY screw on one

if its a DIY job from earlier user then the cable could also be the wrong spec

i flagged the thread last night so lets wait for VM

thats the wrong coax cable thats a DIY one i think you should ring up and get it replaced and that cable is not shelded like the virgin media ones and you can mess up the network on your street with that cable

as said above the upstream was out of spec at 51 on the old hub - or was said to be in the past - they now seem to accept 52 but generally if you dont have problem - if its the same on the hub3 - it displays as 5.1 for 51 as theres bug in the reporting software i would push for a tech to reduce them

My house is ~27 years old, I’m guessing some of the cabling might be done from ntl telewest days but Virgin have never been bothered to change the cabling.

I’m glad to hear a coax cable might be the reason behind all of this though. It would be great if someone replaced this for me. 🙂

Hi meeeeehmet

Thanks for coming back to us. It does need a technician. I'll PM you now to advise further.

Kind regards,

UPDATE:

The engineer came today. He said the coaxial cable is fine, he only changed the connector bit where it plugs into the hub 3. He also attached a 6dB attenuator. In addition, he changed the splitter in the brown box outside my house, he said it's not a VM part so he changed that for me.

He also did a few things in the black cabinet accross my street. These are the new figures:
