Hi, i am waiting to move into a new build. My house builder has placed a virgin media port in the kitchen, living room and master bedroom as standard. I intend to put my 360 box on show upstairs and 2 mini boxes in the other two rooms wall mounted behind the tvs. ( i have already asked for the virgin media ports to be at tv height for the coaxial cable for mini boxes for these rooms)
My question is does it matter where i put the router?? Can i just plug it into any room with the virgin media port and it will work?? I was thinking the router might be too big to wall mount behind the living room tv aswell so was going to put it on show upstairs in the bedroom with the 360 box.
Or does it have to be in the room with the main in-feed?? (living room i would imagine)
Any help would be appreciated.

It does not matter which port the hub uses, but it’s best placed centrally for the best WiFi. Also best to get builders to run Cat6/6A Ethernet to where the hub will be located as all the VM TV devices although they can use WiFi are much better on a wired connection.
