VM not available despite it being in the street

I've just moved into a new house and when checking virgin media availability was told I couldn't get it. After some more checking I've found that the streets North, south and east of me have virgin media and so does part of my street.

After ringing the contact number I couldn't get an answer of if they're just working up to my house or if they've missed it entirely, I was simply told they had my details and would get back to me when it was available. Given its so close I can't imagine it being too difficult to expand the last 30m or so. 

For reference I don't even have another reasonable alternative as apparently my house doesn't have any access to fibre despite being in the middle of Cardiff and completely surrounded by it.

No, one side is a typical road and the other side is a narrow footpath which is where I believe the current copper cable enters the house from. The path, to my knowledge, is a public footpath.

Hi Adri,

I've used the availability checker and it says I can't get VM but as I mentioned before if I were to put in an address further down my street it is available.

I've also filled out that form a couple of weeks ago but haven't heard anything as yet.
