Hi

VM have installed fibre in all the roads around where I live but not mine. How can I find out if this is due to be done ?

How recently was this done, is your property a new build?

If its recent they may still come back to finish, if your property is new then they may not be able to dig there, if the services in your area are pretty old then you'll be classed as infill and likely won't be added to the network for quite a while

Re: VM fibre installation

The road has to be adopted by the local council before the roads can be dug up.

Re: VM fibre installation

Hi Mattstahodge,
Thanks for your post and it's great to hear that you are looking at having Virgin Media installed.
As much as we would love to be able to install everybody, sometimes it's just not possible.
We already have a full 2019 roll out planned as well as some of 2020 for new areas and New Builds too but based on what you've said, it's unlikely you'll be in the plans for a few years yet.
I can double check though just incase although I'll need some information from you. I have sent you a private message requesting some information. Just click on the little plum envelope at the top right hand side of the page to access your inbox.
Thanks,

Re: VM fibre installation

Hi Mattstahodge,

Thanks for coming back to me with your information via private message.
I have sent an email over to the Build teams now to check.
If and when I get a reply from them, I shall be in touch to let you know what they say.
Thanks,

Re: VM fibre installation

Hi Mattstahodge,

Thanks for your patience on this one.

The teams have come back to confirm it will be around 3 years before we are able to even look at expanding in to your area.

Apologies.

The content of message 4 is probably your answer. There is a retention period on new roads & a "no dig" policy is usually imposed until the road passes into local authority control. It stops all & sundry coming along & digging up all the nice shiney new tarmac.
