Its specialised cable. If you buy anything non-standard & add it to VMs network it is technically tampering with their property. It can also cause issues with noise entering the network & possible detrimental effects for the entire street not just your own connection.

There is a £25 charge as its a non-fault callout. If you get nowhere with the call centre then staff here can book tech visits. Hopefully one of them will be along shortly.

VM 350BB 2xV6 & Landline. Freeview/Freesat HD, ASDA/Tesco PAYG Mobile. Cable customer since 1993

Ariel? Do you mean the white co-ax cable connection from the TV box to the wall socket? If so its not an ariel it carries all the TV channels. It can be replaced with a longer one yes... whether they will do it for free or charge you £25 depends on how long its been installed. Is it a new install or are you just wanting to move the box around?

I do not work for VM. My services: HD TV on VIP (+ Sky Sports & Movies & BT sport), x3 V6 boxes (1 wired, 2 on WiFi) Hub5 in modem mode with Apple Airport Extreme Router +2 Airport Express's & TP-Link Archer C64 WAP. On Volt 350Mbps, Talk Anytime Phone, x2 Mobile SIM only iPhones.

yes that’s the one I meant ! I called virgin and they said they do not replace this and they only have 1 standard length and told me to try a shop.. went to curry’s who told me only virgin do this. So I’m stuck !

It’s been installed a year and want to move the box

You will have to pay a reasonable £25 fee for VM to do the work.  You cannot do any co-ax cable work yourself as it's against the T&C's of your contract.
