Telewest virgin wall box

My virgin cable comes in underneath the house to a three way splitter. One of them goes to a telewest box on wall which then connects to my TiVo box. I'm building a media wall and putting TV on wall, can I just disconnect the cable from this telewest box and run the cable directly from splitter under the floor to a new wall socket that I'll fit. There is loads of length on this cable under the floor to do this. Any recommendations for type of module as using combination socket plate, does virgin just connect on standard sat port?

Someone else needs to comment on your plan but as VM have reduced the cost of a no-fault call to £25 - you might consider if that is good value for a Tech to come and fit new connection points and cables exactly where you want them - using all new and correct cabling/connectors as well as balancing the signal levels to the equipment as cable length may affect that.

You have two problems:

1) The wall box containes a safety isolator. This protects not just VMs kit but your own from any nasty voltages coming down the cable.

2) All VMs coax is specialised & all the connections have to be the correct standard in order to stop ingress from Freeview TV, Digital Radio & 4/5G mobile services disrupting VMs network. DIY alterations to any of VMs coax are therefore not adviseable.

Hey Hayley, would be moving box and cabling to a different location as building a media wall and trying to work out best location so the box and cable are hidden behind TV on the wall.
