T3 Timeouts + Post RS Errors

Hello Virgin Media,

I don’t notice any issues with the connection, but I have noticed on my connection I keep getting T3 Timeouts on each upstream channel and Post RS Errors on every downstream channel which I believe I shouldn’t be getting. Please can you take a look at my connection and area to see if there are any current or past faults.

These power levels below are within spec aren’t they?

Not good, you also have a lot of T4's which are bad. These stats are accumulative since the hub was last power cycled. So please power cycle your hub and post a new set of stats after a few hours. We can then see the current figures.

Check with Area faults on 0800 561 0061 or if you have a VM landline 150 as small local faults are not listed on the VM status page.

The PostRS errors should be zero, and yes, there are too many T3 errors.  If you reboot the Hub to reset the counters and keep an eye on the errors.  If they rise quickly, VM will need to fix that.

Also post your Network log before you reset the Hub so we can see the historical information.

For you benefit I would suggest you setup a BQM here www.thinkbroadband.com/ping

Once done, post the shared graph for comment.

Hello Tudor,

Thanks for viewing and replying to my post.

I only have T3 Timeouts, I’ll include a screenshot. I will reboot the hub shortly and post a fresh set of stats in a couple of hours.

Hello Adduxi,

Thanks for viewing and replying to my post.

Do you know if it is allowed and safe to post the network log as it contains MAC addresses?

Thanks,

When you post your network logs, the Board software will remove all the MAC address etc.  So, yes safe to post.

Hello Adduxi,

Thanks again for viewing and replying to my post.

Here is the network log below and my live broadband quality monitor. I will reboot the hub at 17:30 and post the stats again just after 22:30.

So far not a lot to go on, your BQM is very good at the moment.  You just need to keep an eye on the PostRS errors, rising errors are not good.  I very rarely reboot my IT kit and I think the uptime at the moment is about 130 days, and I have a grand total of 0 PostRS errors on my Hub 3.  However I use Modem mode only.
