Super hub light is red

Can I please get some help here, my hub is turned to red for nearly a week now, no matter how many times I turned it off and on again it goes straight to red! It’s not faulty as we still have internet connection but surely something is wrong as it shouldn’t be red

if the base light is red all the time "Your Hub is too hot." https://help.virginmedia.com/system/templates/selfservice/vm/help/customer/locale/en-GB/portal/20030... so would make sure well ventilated, otherwise might need replacement if fault with heat sensor.

Should it be turned off?

A fire risk?

Thanks Paul but the hub is in a well ventilated place not closed in a cupboard or blocked with anything, just sitting on a shelf. Also not hot to touch 🤔

If it does happen to be correct and something is too hot and gets so hot it bursts into flames then your home is in big trouble.

There could be local internal overheating very close to the sensor that doesn't manifest as "hot to the touch".  In any case if its in a well ventilated spot - it is a "fault" - call it in as one and insist on a replacement asap - cite the fire risk argument to CS.

150 on a VM phone - or 0345 454 1111.  Can be +30 minutes before you get an answer so just call when you are relaxing with a cuppa and just hang on in.
