Super hub 4

Can someone enlighten me as to the exact reason that you can get a super hub 4?

I am informed by virgin media that you will only get one if you are in an area where 1 gig is available and when you sign up for a 1 gig contract?

No other customers will receive this new hub unless for trial purposes.

Re: Super hub 4

It's a Hub 4, not a superhub.

You get one for a 1Gb connection, otherwise no.

Apart from the speed, it has no significant advantage over the Hub 3.

Re: Super hub 4

Thanks for update.

I have read on here that customers as low as 50MB broadband have been given a hub4? Are these customers in a 1gig area?

Re: Super hub 4

I expect that when supplies of Hub 3 run out they will start supplying Hub 4. VM staff might be able to give better information. But don't expect it to work any better than a Hub 3.

Re: Super hub 4

Other than if you have Gig1, some customers in areas that have been upgraded to support DOCSIS 3.1 (which is needed for Gig1) are being offered a Hub 4 where it could improve the service in the area.

That is co-ordinated by Virgin Media and only if you're contacted by them and offered a Hub 4 if you don't have Gig1 will you get a Hub 4.
