Super Hub starting to become unreliable

Hello,

my SuperHub (I think it's a 2) used to work just fine, but recently started to become unreliable. I have to re-start it frequently, sometimes it drops speeds to a snail pace, sometimes it stops connecting to the Internet altogether. Unplugging and plugging back in always fixes it.

This sometimes happens several times a day, sometimes it works fine for a week or so before I have to re-start. Up until a few months ago I never had to do this at all.

I use the router in "modem mode", with a wired connection to an ASUS router.

The WiFi connection to the router is not an issue, nor the Asus router's connection to the SuperHub, only the Super Hub's connection to the outside world.

Any ideas?

Thank you,

wagnertoph

Re: Super Hub starting to become unreliable

Much more likely to be a circuit problem. Go into your hub on 192.168.100.1 and post your up/down stream stats and network log.

I must admit that I don't know much about what any of these means, I blacked out the MAC addresses, in case that's something I should do.

Thank you for looking at these!

Best wishes,

Nothing amiss there. See what the forum staff have to say.

Setup a BQM and post the live link and don't reboot the hub

Re: Super Hub starting to become unreliable

Hi,

I finally managed to work out how to stop the BQM graph from being just red, took me a while to find the right setting!

Is that useful to diagnose the issue?

Thank you!

Re: Super Hub starting to become unreliable

WoW thats bad you might have a bad cable or loss cable?

The issue could be your Asus router so try a PC connected to the modem mode port with your Asus router MAC on your PC or power off the hub for 2mins for a MAC change and new IP.

Re: Super Hub starting to become unreliable

Hi wagnertoph,

Thanks for getting in touch, I am sorry to see you have had trouble with your connection.

Things seem ok from this side. It may help to try a new Hub.

I will pop you a PM to get this arranged. Keep an eye out for the Purple Envelope, top right hand corner.

Speak to you soon.

Emma
