Setting up a V Box HD

Hi all,

I have a tivo box in the house that connects to router and TV. We got a V box HD when we signed up years ago but never used it. it is a Cisco 4585DVB box.

I now am building an outhouse ( 70ft away) and want to set up virgin tv and wifi down there to connect to the new telly.

The electrician is going to run a cat 6 cable from house( I assume from my router ) to shed - is that all I need - or what is correct set up?

Do I need any aerial input? I ask because the V 6 Box has a connection for this.

Sorry for what is probably a silly question but I am not great with tech.

thanks

Re: Setting up a V Box HD

That box won't work ever. It's part of a decommissioned TV platform and charges for should have been removed from your account.

If you want an additional box it would have to be a TiVo or V6 box and both need to be connected to the coax cable that your current V6 and Hub are connected to. The V6 also needs a home network connection either via Ethernet or WiFi.

Re: Setting up a V Box HD

Thanks Ben - are these new boxes something I can easily get from Virgin online?

Given the Cat6e cable is going to be running from my router to the shed at least I have internet for the time being - right?

Connecting this to the TV should allow me to view netflix and disney plus while I wait for a new box?

Re: Setting up a V Box HD

It's better to call in for additional boxes. Though I can't currently remember whether 70ft is going to be pushing the coax signal for an additional box.

Yes to your other two questions.
