Self install when moving?

So it looks like we will be moving very soon, and the new flat should already have Virgin Media cable available. Obviously we will notify VM so that they can change our address, but if there is a suitable cable outlet point at the flat, will I simply be able to hook up my cable modem to it and have everything work?

Re: Self install when moving?

if VM is installed in the new place you should be able to continue things via the home move team

you will need to contact them and arrange things - afaik your contract should just continue - i believe there is a £20 charge for the move of address

not sure how things work with the hub - they may want o send you a new one - discuss that with them

Re: Self install when moving?

Well finally moved... a total disaster. Despite having 2 weeks notification VM screwed everything up royally - because the tenants we swapped with ALSO had VM, their systems choked on it!

Currently my account says I have no services at all.. LOL

Re: Self install when moving?

VM's procedure is to try and contact the previous customer to confirm leaving, if no response after two weeks their account can be marked 'gone away'.
