I have a old hub and yes VM sent me a email on how to return this. Which seems good on the face of it.
Posting to not an option as none of the Yodel shops are in a good spot for me!
I followed the link in the email to where to drop it off without posting and it gave me the option for an O2 store. . Many miles away but a family member was going there . On trying to drop it off was told no we are a franchise and we don't take old hubs 😠. Lucky this was not a 10 mile trip just to do this!
One more fail from VM and O2 as well 🙄

Not true. They keep asking for this back and cannot help me with a local place to drop it off. I'm told O2 shops will take them but they refuse to take it.

It was the case up until recently. VM now want them back.

They want them back, because they are required to recycle them. But they are not making it easy.

Yes they do and they have asked me a number of times to return it. Only way I can do that is drive 10 miles out of my way, which I did once and O2 shop would not take it, yet they should according to VM. So not going to happen. Sadly it's in my way and taking up space! There is not even a Yodel drop off near to me that I would be going past.

Two recent pieces of info below from the VM forum team
on the date of the change and whether to return or not.
In my area residents can put out small, separate bags for small electrical items, textiles and batteries on recycling day. This is becoming more common in many areas, such as the examples below, but is often not that well publicised by the local authority within their general recycling info.

Since it's VM's responsibility to take back their redundant equipment, I don't see why you should have to drive miles with It.
VM should collect it from you, at the address where they delivered it.

Yes I know that all of that! VM what it back and keep asking me for it. So I can't take it to my local tip. So I'm left with a 10 mile trip and as I said before the O2 shop that should take it "NO" 😡. Why should this cost me money and the time, plus add to the my carbon footprint 👿. Had staff on here by PM saying they can't help.

How does your situation differ from the two forum links? The change applies from 1 Sept 2023 and in an earlier topic from July 2023 you mentioned that was when you swapped the hub. The notifications for Hub 3's started in March 2023 so you seem to fall into that group of 'return or ignore'. Does your local authority not offer a kerbside collection for small electrical items rather than visiting the tip? If you had a convenient tip to deposit the hub, I imagine it would already be gone by now some time in July.

Had an Email from VM on 02/09/23 saying I must return this hub to them!

As have the people posting on 5 pages worth here
who have been advised to return it if you can and ignore the email if you can't.
