Regular Broadband Disconnections

I have 200MB standalone broadband that I have had for years. I have a Super Hub 3 in Modem only mode running along side an Asus AC88U Router and the past week I have been having regular Broadband Disconnections. Like 20 plus times a day! I can't even stream a movie any more...

I have factory reset the router and hub 3 (made no difference). I have replaced Ethernet cables but that doesn't help. I am unable to run a self test as it fails with:

Technical error
Something's gone wrong with the test.

I have tried running the test on different browsers and machines but it fails every time!

Here are my Super Hub 3 stats:

I have disconnected the VM co-axle cable and reconnected it (Didn't help) to the modem. WiFi works fine as does the local network but the WAN shows as Disconnected when the internet goes down. Is there a network issue or a problem with my connection? It's driving me nuts!!!

Re: Regular Broadband Disconnections

Can you set up a Broadband Quality Monitor (BQM) at thinkbroadband.com - this will give you an insight into what is happening with the signal at the Hub, it will take a few hours to get any kind of trend showing.

Post a link to your BQM on here.

Instructions for posting BQM Link

Under your BQM graph are two links in red.

Click the lower link (Share Live Graph) then click generate.

Copy the text in the Direct Link box, beware, there may be more text than you can see.

On here click the Link icon (2 link chain)

In the URL box paste the link you copied and then click OK

Re: Regular Broadband Disconnections

OK thank you for taking the time to reply. I have set this up and will provide an update but I will likely do that tomorrow to allow for some time to pass and the graph to get sufficient data.

Re: Regular Broadband Disconnections

If you post a link for a live graph  will be able to see it develop.

Link to live graph as requested. My connection went down again just after I set it up as you can see in the graph at the very start.

Re: Regular Broadband Disconnections

Ok so here is an update...

I setup the monitor yesterday at around 6:15pm and within minutes of setting it up my internet dropped as shown in the BQM graph below. It worked fine until around 9pm and it went down again (was watching a movie on NOWTV at the time).

https://www.thinkbroadband.com/broadband/monitoring/quality/share/419dc1c71986b2427eced5b4ec8c0e2a073cf8d3-16-03-2020

It has worked all day without any problems but has dropped twice in the last 20 minutes. Here is a link to todays BQM:

When the WAN drops I cannot access the Super Hub 3 at all via 192.168.100.1

I can however access my Asus router but I see the following:

Screenshot 2020-03-17 at 19.06.32.png

Internet always restores itself without any help from me within 2 - 5 minutes of it disconnecting. The only thing left for me to try is to disconnect the Asus router and use the Hub 3 in router mode after preforming yet another factory reset on it and see if the internet still drops?

Re: Regular Broadband Disconnections

Good idea. Remove the Asus from the system and see how it goes.

Re: Regular Broadband Disconnections

I will hold fire for the time being. Since my initial post it hasn't been that bad, it really was happening 15 - 20 times a day! I'm sure its a network issue with Virgin Media but time will tell I guess... If it continues or gets worse again I will remove the Asus router and all ethernet cables and run the HUB 3 as a router with nothing connected for 48 hours and see what results my BQM shows at that time.
