QuickStart broadband with ntl socket?

EE48B0A2-E1F5-45B0-8283-87C08DA6C8A0.jpeg

am trying to figure out whether I will be able to do the QuickStart self install for Virgin Broadband only. The previous tenant in my flat supposedly had virgin internet. I don’t see a Virgin wall socket however there is a ntl socket. Will I be able to use this socket to install the broadband?

Re: QuickStart broadband with ntl socket?

That is a telephone socket, which Virgin (& formerly NTL) do not use for internet.

You are looking for something like this:

Virgin coax outletVirgin coax outlet

Virgin BB TV Landline. Freeview/Freesat HD, Virgin Mobile, Tesco Mobile. Cable customer since 1993

Re: QuickStart broadband with ntl socket?

If there isn't another NTL socket or even a coaxial cable poking through the wall you need a manned installation, won't cost you.

Thank you for your help! Not sure what coaxial cable is but there are these 3 cables poking through the wall. They poke through a hole in the wall near outside door and then run along the wall about 2 meters.

The 2 most left ones are attached together, and the right one is separate. Could any of these be used ?

The one on the right is the Virgin cable. The other two are the feed from a satellite dish for using Sky or Freesat.

Re: QuickStart broadband with ntl socket?

Thank you! Do you know if that type of virgin cable, it is only used to connect to TV or can be used to set up broadband ?
