I'm a virgin media customer and have recently moved. Unfortunately they can't get an engineer to me for a week, but I need to work from home. I can plug the router in to the cable from the wall (telewest socket), but the router just flashes green. The manual says this is when there isn't a connection to the wall socket.

Is this due to the switch over date from virgin being in a week so it isn't activated, or is it not as simple as plugging in to a cable that fits?

afaik you can only move the router from one address to another if they set it up and what you are seeing suggests that may be the problem - flashing or solid green can also mean the connection to the cabinet is not there or it may be that the hub is not activated

you need to talk to them and see if they will add your router to that address/account - if they will then activate it and see if it comes on line

have you done the move through the house moving team - if so contact them
