Quick start faceplate?

Hi we had VM 5 years ago, and have decided to return (it's awful already but!) They sent a Quick start pack which needs a Faceplate? Now when we had VM before we never had a faceplate we just had a telephone socket, and no one at Virgin can tell me what work and damage they are going to do installing the faceplate, can anyone shed some light on this, as I about to cancel before it starts otherwise.

I have asked VM Customer services they helped as much as [REMOVED] in the wind, the tech team were just as useless.

So any help advice would be great before Tuesday 12th Feb 19 please.

Re: Quick start faceplate?

so you do not have a Virgin phone line you must have had the old DSL and not cable. If this is the case the phone line you have is BT.

VM will need to install; both Phone line and Cable points.

Re: Quick start faceplate?

We have a separate BT Openreach socket for the phone line Virgin installed the second socket for us to use the Broadband etc, it runs on a different cable which is in the loft and then out of the ceiling to the Virgin socket, its messy already have an BT & Virgin socket within 6" of each other!!

We had both Phone and ALL the Virgin channels via Virgin, so this to me makes no sense, Virgin installed cable to our house!

Re: Quick start faceplate?

VM have never supplied DSL by there own network so that makes no sense you can't of had internet from the Virgin media phone line.

Re: Quick start faceplate?

OK fine we can disagree However, I know what my set up was, I had a VM media box with all the Sky Channels on for sport as well, all run via this socket on the wall!!

The cable coming to the Virgin Socket is twice if not 3 times the size of the BT one!

Re: Quick start faceplate?

Never had that extra box!!

Which is why I'm asking when it changed, we had it installed 10 years ago and cancel 4/5 years ago..
