Hi guys!
We received our tv/broadband package and set-up was going fine until I discovered the previous tenant’s Virgin wall socket was installed by the front door - too far away for us to connect to it.
My question is - is there a device I can put on the old cable end so I can extend and connect to that? Or do I need to book an engineer to come over to move the wall socket nearer?

a longer cable could be the answer but that would have too be supplied by VM - easy way is to have the box moved - ring it in as faulty which it is as it does not work for you - they may try to charge you £25 - have non of that - unplug the hub when you ring it in or turn it off
you can wait here for VM they should sort a tech out
