Pre and Post RS Errors

Hi,

I wonder if someone can help. My broadband bandwidth is meant to be 100Mb/s but i'm barely hitting 0.5Mb/s on download now. Everything was okay until ~ 2 days ago and now it's very poor.

I've rebooted my shub3 earlier today, but no change.

I've checked the network status - Channels 13, 14, 21, 22, 23, 24 have lots of errors and low(er) power.

Downstream , Upstream and Log follow. See errors in downstream and log.

Is this an issue at my end? Everything was okay until two days ago.

Cheers.

I'll book in an engineer

Yes, the downstream SNR levels should be greater than 34.5 db.  I should also have mentioned that whilst still within specification (less than 51dbmv) your Upstream power levels are at the high end of the scale and that together with all 4 Upstream channels being on 16 rather than 64 QAM would also suggest a noisy connection.

Check the security of the cable connections at the back of the hub and the wall socket and if they are tight then you've done all you can and an engineer will be needed.

Changes like this can be due to numerous reasons so I won't speculate.

You have correctly identified Channels 13, 14, 21, 22, 23, 24 as having issues but it's not the power levels, all of which are within specification, it is the Signal-to-noise levels that are below the 34.5 db threshold that is the issue.  In other words you have a lot of noise on the line and you will need an engineer's visit to look into that.

I was hoping you could give some advice on a similar issue.

Recently got Virgin Media Hub 3.0 with 250 MBps internet and it doesn't seem to be working properly.
I checked in network status and the power levels and SNR all seem to be within nominal tolerance.

Despite this something seems to be really wrong with the Pre RS errors. They are growing continually at a very fast rate everytime I refresh the page.

I tried resetting the router, reconnecting the coax cable but with no success.

Any ideas what could be causing this?

Having similar problem. My SNR is 31 and 26 for channel 11 and 12.

router keeps rebooting.

there is work being done to improve the service in my area. Is this likely to be the cause of the issue? Or is it something else?

Faults ref number is F007962393.

Just want to be sure I don’t potentially have separate faults going on
