afternoon, last week I had an email to say there would be area upgrades on the 24/10/22 ( which I’m sure were just cabinet software upgrades ).

however since then my power levels have been out of spec, please can a tech be scheduled to adjust please? Thanks in advance.

IF i have helped you, please give me kudos / mark me as helpful, thanks

Hi spikey673,

Thank you for reaching out to us here on the Community.

I am sorry to hear you have been experiencing issues with your broadband service.

I have taken a look from our side and can confirm the power levels appear to be running within specification.

As this is a live report, can you please confirm how the service has been since your last post? Have you seen any improvements?

Thanks,

Nat

Having just checked my downstream power levels are peaking at 13.8 whereas max recommended is 10, my upstream is only on 32QAM whereas it’s normally on 64.

id say it requires a 6db attenuator fitted, but as you know virgin don’t send these out and only allow techs to fit these 😔.

IF i have helped you, please give me kudos / mark me as helpful, thanks

Yes, your power levels need adjusting, it could be done at the cabinet, but would also affect the upstream which is currently ok. A forward path attenuator of either 10dBm or 6dBm.

Nope they don't send these but I did purchase 6db from ebay once for couple £ to reduce the levels. Used it about a year then Virgin did some work and level dropped so removed it. The levels now between 2 and 4.
