PostRS Levels

Hi all!

I've seen on here that having PostRS errors is not necessarily a good thing. I don't currently have any obvious issues with my Internet get 100 down throughout the day. Could someone just take a look over my stats to ensure they are in spec.

Thanks

Re: PostRS Levels

The Hub has a uptime of 11days. I understand that rebooting will clear these errors but would you expect this amount within 11 days.

Thanks again.

Re: PostRS Levels

Hello

Looking at your stats and the power levels and SNR are all within the specifications that VM use. Yes there are a few post RS errors this can happen on a DOCSIS connection, if these were increasing at an alarming rate then it would be a  concern, one thing you can do is too go around and make sure that all of coaxial connections to all VM equipment are finger tight, best way to do this is too loosen the connector and re-tighten them also check for any tight bends in the cable or damage, once that is done power off hub for approx 1min and then turn it back on as well as resetting the counter will also make the hub reconnect to a better signal.

Do you get any lose of speed with download or upload.

Re: PostRS Levels

Thanks Mike for your insightful response.

No I don't currently suffer from any issues that I am aware of anyway. Has been pretty solid strangely enough as with other customers I see it had caused some issues.

I will have a look at cable as you suggested, I just wanted someone familiar with Stats to have a glance to put my mind at ease.

Have recently moved over to Cable from that other network beginning with O. Had constant issues since Nov last year with that, look at it the wrong way and it will loose connection or DLM will start reducing my speed and then waiting weeks before it thought about increasing again - very flakey.

Thanks again for taking time to check. So far so happy with my Service from start to current - touch wood.

Steve
