No Ranging Response received - T3 time-out

Hi,

Looking at the router network log, I see numerous warnings:

No Ranging Response received - T3 time-out

Also, as I read in other threads, I notice upstream modulation is at 16qam, can someone please look into it or advice if I need an engineer visit?

Hi badhodor123,

Thanks for using the forums to get this issue with your broadband services looked into, I am sorry if this has been causing some frustration. I would be more than happy to look into this for you.

I have already taken a look at your services on my side and everything is in tip top shape - all green and your downstream/upstream levels are all within spec which is good.

I understand you're concerned with the warnings on your Hub settings, however if you could give us more of a description of how your connection is performing it might give us a better view of your issue.

  • What problems do you experience when using your internet?
  • Do these issues occur on WIFI or hardwired connections?
  • When these issues occur, do any lights appear on the Hub?
  • If it's slow speeds that you're getting, can you please do a Speed Test on a hard wired PC/laptop and let us know the results?
  • If it's more intermittent connections, I would suggest setting up a BMQ graph so we can visually see what is occurring, please post the link after 24 hours of usage so we can take a look.

Please get back to us and try to answer my questions in bullet points so it's easier to track 🙂

Thanks,

Megan_L

Upstream is really bad, too many T3’s and should be 64QAM not 16QAM. You will need a technician’s visit to rectify, call customer services or wait awhile for a VM staff member to get to your post and arrange one.

Hi badhodor123,

Thank you for reaching out to us in our community and welcome back, I have been able to locate yopur account and have had a look, there are some errors showing however I have found 2 thing you have a 3rd party Router which stopped me doing further check and you haven't rebooted our Router for 77 Days which is the first thing we ask when you have any issues.

can you try a pin reset on the Router just to rule out a software issue, first check all the internal connections are hand tight then push a pin/ paper clip in the back of the Router where it says reset, push in until you feel it press then hold in for a timed 1 Minute, do not reboot during or after and allow 15 Minutes to settle afterwards?

Once reset keep ours in Router mode and post full logs again to see if there is any difference, if the same I will arrange a technician once I have been able to run further checks?

Regards

Paul.

Thanks Paul, I don't think generally people restart their router?

Anyways, as per your instructions, I have done a reset for 60 secs and then the router is back in router mode automatically.

I have left it in router mode until you are able to finish your tests. I have failover using my 3rd party router with a different ISP, so I can run via. secondary internet connection temporarily. Running speed tests, since then, I am at 350-360 MBPS with wired cat6 cable , used to be 500+ as i am on M500. Upload is the same as before 36 (wired, wireless, before, after) no change.
