New wall socket boxes

Hi, could somebody please confirm that the new wall socket boxes are ones that jut out at a really odd angle please? My old one was replaced today but I’m surprised that it wasn’t replaced with a traditional virgin socket box that has the cable enter directly underneath. This new one looks like it has been designed and angled to go over skirting boards - thanks for any replies

Wow how far up the wall is that socket? Mine is sitting on the skirting board, the cable basically does a full loop on the floor before going into the modem but it's all behind the TV so I don't care 🙂

Exactly what happened to me moving the sofa to vacuum 🤦🏾‍♀️

Kind of glad i have a 20 year old telewest wall box, seperate splitter for hub and stb and completely independent phone line coming out the wall box.
