Lots of error messages....No Ranging Response received and DHCP RENEW WARNING - Field invalid in response

markporterhome
Tuning in

Hi there,

I notice a lot of 'No Ranging Response' and 'DHCP RENEW WARNING - Field invalid in response v4 option received' messages. I can't see that there are any power or SNR issues, and I'm not sure if I need to be concerned about these messages?!? Would appreciate if someone could let me know if it's a problem, and how it can be fixed.

Many thanks!
Mark

Yes, there are a lot of No Ranging Response received and DHCP RENEW WARNING on the Hubs due to the way the WAN DHCP works.

However, please post the Power levels, Pre and PostRS errors and Network logs.  Copy and paste the text, do not user screenshots please.  Just post across several posts.

I would also suggest you setup a BQM to monitor your incoming circuit.   www.thinkbroadband.com/ping

Your Downstream power is too high,  range is -6 to +10.   All the other stats look okay, apart from the many T3 errors which could be a symptom of the DS power.

You can either phone the fault in, or wait here a day or two for a VM Mod to pick this up.

Thanks a lot Adduxi for your reply. I appreciate it!

I'm actually awaiting a new HUB4 to arrive + 1Gb connection, should be connected Saturday, so I'm gathering info on my current HUB3 settings and status so I can see what changes / if any fixes are needed after the new kit and connection is running.

I feel better versed now to check and manage things once the new gear is set up 😉

Thanks again

Mark

Hi markporterhome,

Thanks for your post and welcome to the Forums. It's great having you on board with us in the Community.

I'm sorry to hear you were having some issues with your connection. As mentioned by Adduxi, the downstream levels being too high would have caused some issues.

I can see the new Hub 4 has now been installed. It can take a few days for it to settle on to the network so please let us know if you have any concerns with the connection in the next few days.

Thanks Kath,

So far the new hub seems to be performing really well. Succeeded to test over 950Mbs download and over 50Mbs upload today, which is fantastic!

Best Regards

Mark

Many thanks for the update markporterhome,
