An Engineer came today to install my broadband, he didn’t use the Isolator cable that came in the box, just a plain white cable. Is this ok?
I have had Virgin broadband previously.
My broadband isn’t up and running yet as there is a fault in the box down the street.

Older installs have an isolator in the internal wall box, so should be ok:

Newer installs use inline isolators similar to the one in your kit. These can be hidden away in the wall box.

Hi Kye1👋, welcome to the community! Thank you for posting.
Sorry to hear about your Isolator concerns following your installation and that there are some issues at the local cabinet causing service installation delays!
I would advise if you have been visited by an engineer who can see your property, cabling and isolator panel that they will have correctly carried out and works needed to ensure you will be connected following the end of the local outage issues.
If this is not the case, and you are still without service following the issues with the cabinet at the street being resolved please do get back in touch and let us know! We would then need to send out another engineer to check everything is set up as it should be. You can get updates for local outages here👉 https://virg.in/service or by calling 📞 0800 561 0061.
Let us know if there is anything else we can help with!
Wishing you all the best. 🌞
