Installation without consent

Like so many others it seems from previous posts on here..
I have no contract or any connection with this company yet I come home to find a brown plastic box and unsightly thick black cable attached to the brick work on the wall to the front of my property.

I have now had four telephone discussions and much time wasted reporting this to several departments within VM with no resolution.  Consent is a legal obligation it is apparent that VM disregard this. They are unlawfully allowing engineers either instructed or employed by them to trespass and damage an individuals property

I shall be seeking further legal advice on this matter.

Yet another poor communication incident.

Third party contractor has either been given the wrong address to install the drop, or have made a mistake themselves.

Also I think these pre-installs should now be arranged so that they cannot go ahead if there is nobody present at the address at the time it happens. This would also make sure drop lines are being installed where a customer wants them located.

VM BB TV Landline. Vonage 2nd line. Freeview/Freesat HD, ASDA/Tesco PAYG Mobile. Customer since 1993

I'm a Very Insightful Person, I'm here to share knowledge, I don't work for Virgin Media. Learn more

You'd think that would be the normal procedure for a responsible company wouldn't you?

But that would need the installing contractor's work to be scheduled by Virgin, instead of the present arrangement where the jobs are just dumped on them and left.

And that would cost a little extra money, so it's not going to happen.

My name is not Alessandro. That is just a tag Virginmedia foisted on me.

Hi NR2022,

Thanks for your post, and a warm welcome to our Community Forums.

I'm very sorry to hear there has been an external installation at your property when you have not taken our services. I'm going to send you a private message to get some more details, so I can get this raised with the correct people for you.

Please look out for it in the top-right, purple envelope.

Cheers,

Reece - Forum Team

I received a letter dated 30/11/22 informing me that ‘Gareth’ had now resolved the issue and the media box has now been removed from the front brick work of my house and all damage repaired.

Well sadly it seems ‘Gareth’  has once again attended an incorrect address and more than likely removed some unsuspecting VM customers media box from their property…
Virgin Media you are an embarrassment!!

Well I've said before that Virginmedia would make a good pantomime. It seems they have started this season.

"They're behind you!"

Hi NR2022,

Thanks for providing the update on this. I'm very sorry to hear you've received this letter, but no action has been taken on your property.

As mentioned in our private message, we were awaiting an update on this and didn't receive one on this end. I'm going to re-open our conversation, to discuss this further.

Thanks,

Reece - Forum Team
