I was supposed to have my internet installed on the 28th December and now told by my app this has disappeared and nobody can give me an answer why. I’ve spent hours on the phone nobody is listening to me! I have had a stroke and have high blood pressure and live alone I needed the internet installed as need to speak with family across the world. They don’t care at all what can I do??

what can you do - look after yourself is number 1 - vm will do little to nothing - more likely the latter - CS [offshore] will tell you what they think you want to hear and it will  be mostly made up on the spot [read lies] - they will promise you whatever gets you off the phone - that can be a call back is 20 minutes - wont happen to a call back in 48 hours - again wont happen - or it will all happen tomorrow or christmas day or whenever - i take it you get the idea - all BS

so what can you [actually] d- - look at alternatives in the short term - an unlimited data sim for your phone - about £25 a month from Smarty and others or if you are in a good 5g area mobile BB from Three again about £25 a month on a 30 day contract - as things are your install date is the 28th from then you should be due compensation for any delay - its supposed to be automatic but VM usually have more excuses not to pay than days in the week - all rubbish but to get it if you are due it may need arbitration

Hi Evertonjoe1975. Unfortunately what you have heard from tony is quite correct. You do need to find an alternative broadband provider to keep you going until Virginmedia get you connected.

If your property has an existing Virginmedia cable from a previous VM customer, there should not be a long delay. If however there is no existing cable (they don't use the same ones as BT) then it can take weeks before they get one installed.

I'm sorry to hear about the poor experience you have had.
The only delay to happen to installs would be based on the external cabling.
