I am setting up broadband in my house, ordered a self installation pack but realised there’s no Virgin media socket.
I presume I will need some form of engineer help with this? Please could someone advise?

You'll need a manned engineer installation.
Try the preinstall line 0800 0521734 if no joy with the main CS line 0345 4541111.
Otherwise forum staff should pickup in a day or so.
