Previously had VM broadband in our house so have the old connection box in the living room so would it be possible to extend the cable from the living room so the router/Hub is in my bedroom  ?

No - you will need to get VM to come out to reposition the Hub and replace all the cabling/wall sockets and rebalance all the power levels. They will charge (a reasonable) £25 for that.

Alternatively you can just leave it all as is and just run some Cat5e/6a ethernet cabling from the Hub to the bedroom and connect on that via a "switch" or wireless access point. Or look at TP-Link powerline adapters (+/- Wifi) or their Mesh systems (e.g. M4,M5 3-packs)

I do not work for VM. My services: HD TV on VIP (+ Sky Sports & Movies & BT sport), x3 V6 boxes (1 wired, 2 on WiFi) Hub5 in modem mode with Apple Airport Extreme Router +2 Airport Express's & TP-Link Archer C64 WAP. On Volt 350Mbps, Talk Anytime Phone, x2 Mobile SIM only iPhones.

I haven't got VM yet I'm still looking at packages etc but I just enquiring if it's possible for the coax cable to be that long to go upstairs

No problem with the length of coax cable, ask for a maned install and the VM technician will install anywhere you want.
