Hi all,
im sure this has already been covered but, we are moving house at the end if this month and have an engineer booked for 19/05 (going to feel like forever with no wifi) as the property needs an engineer before virgin can send their signals or something. We have the gig1 package with hub 4 (it has been absolute pants- went out to buy an asus router just to get better signal around the house) but our speeds are still lacking. Im just wondering during the process of moving and getting everything set up if anybody knows if we can upgrade to the hub 5 as its been out for a while now and the hub 4 is quite outdated tech now. Thanks in advance, D

They will normally expect you to take the existing equipment with you.
If it's a technician installation you could ask them if they have a Hub 5 on the van to do a swap.
Does the property work involve running a new cable from the road? If so there may be some delay to the installation. There often is.

Hi Depper1, thanks for the message and welcome to the forums.
You would take the old equipment with you and during a move and transfer, the engineer would check the hub and power levels to ensure you are getting the best signal.
They will inform if there is an issue and if the hub is faulty this would be replaced.
Please let us know how the visit goes?
Kind regards. Chris.
