Hub 5 cable

Do I need to use the new coaxial cable that arrives with the Hub 5?

Will it affect my signal or speed if I don't?

Also is it to go from the wall to splitter? Or splitter to hub?

If it's a replacement for an existing hub, just remove the cable from the present hub and put it in the new hub.
