Hub 3.0 has recently starting rebooting

Hello,

I joined VM in March and have had a reliable connection until a week ago. Now suffering from occasional Hub 3.0 reboots as follows: 18/6 @ 13.15 19/6 @ 10.15, 12.15 and 18.00 20/6 @ 14.30 24/6 @ 17.00 and 25/6 @ 11.25. Nothing has changed recently at my end and I have checked the local wiring etc. Stats, just after a re-boot, seem ok. The log does not appear to be registering anything specific to the reboots. Grateful for any help, this is getting annoying given the time the hub takes to re-establish a connection.

Adrian

Re: Hub 3.0 has recently starting rebooting

Damn, I was fully expecting to see the upstream power levels hitting the upper boundary, but they look OK.

Unless it's slowly ramping up, it has been warm recently so I'm wondering....

Can you take a look at the power levels in a couple of hours, the longer you can leave it the better, but definitely before it reboots again - I know you can't predict when unfortunately. I want to see if the upstream power is climbing.

Re: Hub 3.0 has recently starting rebooting

The logs are showing a dropout on the 20th but the logs are only covering a period of a few hours.
It look like a possible timing issue where the Hub is not receiving an opportunity to talk to VM's CMTS.

As it is an intermittent fault which is only happening occasionally, it may be hard for VM to track down.

Starting a Broadband Quality Monitor leaving it to run for a few days would help (VM as well) by showing the dropouts.

Downstream stats are as before. Highest Pre RS errors are 28 and no post RS errors. It has been over 20 hours since the last reboot. I occasionally check the router status pages and never notice any significant changes other than some post RS errors.

Re: Hub 3.0 has recently starting rebooting

I have been running the Broadband QM since I joined VM in March! Here is the plot from yesterday which shows the latest reboot at 11.25.

Worth mentioning that, so far, these reboots have only occurred when I have been using my PC (wired connection).

Re: Hub 3.0 has recently starting rebooting

An update for those interested. I reset the hub on 27/6. Ok until yesterday, and then another 3 reboots between 19.00 and 21.00. Currently waiting for a reply to my text chat request...

Re: Hub 3.0 has recently starting rebooting

Those upstream power levels are still ok, should be 3.1 to 5.0 (really 31 to 50, but VM cannot display them correctly!). I cannot think of any reason for your problems.
