I'm out of contract at the moment and paying £72 for 350mb Internet-only package which seems completely ridiculous to me.
The other day I was advised to seek out competitors and call Virgin with their deals. The problem is that using numerous deal websites, Virgin offers by far the best speeds in my part-fibre area. I couldn't find any other deals that could guarantee an average speed of over 100mb.
Am I stuck paying £72 without a viable alternative to threaten Virgin with switching to? Is it worth just calling their bluff anyway and starting the cancellation process, even though they'll surely know Virgin is the best deal in my area? Thanks!

Try it and see? If you can get a 30 day rolling contract with a.n.other, then after 3 months you can return to VM and get the "new" customer pricing. Also have you checked out to see if the 5G signal is any good in your area, as there are some good 5G routers on the market at the moment.

I would not presume that the person doing the negotiation knows what the broadband providers are in your area.

Sure as long as the person don't need inbound ports.
I have a Zyxel Nebula FWA510 as backup and for testing easier gets over 100Mb down and over 20 up
