How is my connection?

Hi,  When I had VM installed someone on here said my upload power looked low.  As time has gone on I have the occasional issue when playing games on-line, but generally the speed tests look good to my router.  Please can someone give my info below a quick once over and advise?

Hi iamSteve,

Thanks for your post and welcome to the community!

Sorry to see you're facing issues.

From reviewing your account I can see that your router has a uptime of 100+ days which could directly affect your broadband as the box can miss out on potential updates and overall reliability.

Could you reboot and leave off for 1/2 minutes before turning back on, if you could also check to see if the cables are securely fastened.

With regards to upload speeds we do aim for them to be around 30-40 mbps so I can't see any issues at present with that.

Let us know how the service is after performing the reboot.

Cheers

Kain

I was more ping's, jitter and upload power (that I was told originally was set to low) I was concerned with rather than speed.

I will check connections and cycle power on virgin hub.

Did not think to check before restart, however this is the current router software status:-

Standard specification compliant: DOCSIS 3.0
Hardware version: 10
Software version: 9.1.1912.304
Cable MAC address: C0:
Cable modem serial number: AAAP
System up time: 0 days 0h:9m:44s
Network access: Allowed

Hi iamSteve,

Thanks for rebooting the router. Hopefully you will start to see an improvement in your connection.

Keep the BQM running and pop your live URL link here so we can monitor things too.

Let us know if you have any further issues and we can go from there.

Many thanks,

Not sure it's made much difference, I have seen fewer dropouts on the BQM though.

The up time of a VM hub has no bearing on whether or not it receives updates nor should affect reliability. Power cycling the hub though will reset the error counters. I have never ever just power cycled either my Hub4 nor the previous Hub3 which was up for nearly a year without being reset.

Hi iamSteve,

Thanks for coming back to us on this.

We're glad to hear you are seeing fewer dropouts.

The URL you've posted isn't leading to a live graph. It's coming up with a page not found error. Are you able to double check this for us?

Keep us posted with how things are.

Thanks,
