I haven't received my hub yet and as a new customer I don't know exactly how it looks. But this Cabletel outlet looks strange to me. Will the hub fit in it or are there parts/cables/connectors missing?

You are missing an isolator.
Since the new cables include one 'in line' (The lump in the cable). You could get one of these:
