House move - wrong socket

I've moved into a new house today and was under the impression that the previous tenants had Virgin so ordered the self installation stuff.

Now I’m in, the only socket I can see is this:

I’m assuming I’ll have to book an engineer to fit the one for the isolator cable?

Re: House move - wrong socket

It’s not in theory an issue that the telephone socket has open reach on- as openreach own the telephone network

however, if there is no coaxial input then an engineer will be required. Check to see if there is a brown / white / grey box outside the property- if not then you will definitely need an engineer

Re: House move - wrong socket

Virgin do not use the BT/openreach network so that can't be used for any VM services.

If they allowed your to order a quickstart then the address has had services in the pasted.

Check outside for a vm brown box and see if the cable enters the house at that point
