Moved to new property. Got my router but there's no wall socket even though the previous tenant had Virgin. All there is on the wall is a black cable that comes from outside through wall and has a big metal connector. There is a TV and radio socket and a telephone socket. None of these sockets fits anything that was in the Virgin router package.

VM only knows a previous user had an account & assumes they have left all the wiring & connectors intact. As with most of the posts with this issue, the previous user has removed the wall box & safety isolator that you need to connect your quick start kit too, leaving just a male connector hanging out of the wall.

Give VM a call & ask for a manned install as a new one will have to be fitted.
