Gig1 Stats

On our wavelength

Hey folks

Just upgraded from 500mb to 1Gb today installed the router but no idea what I am looking at with the 3.1 stats.  There are a couple of inline attenuators inc a 4db so not sure if I should remove it or not based on the 3.1 stats being at -11db

I still think that power is too low! (More than happy to be corrected!)

Someone else needs to comment on the Docsis3.1 stats but the 3.0 ones look ok

Are you actually having connection issues ?

I do not work for VM. My services: HD TV on VIP (+ Sky Sports & Movies & BT sport), x3 V6 boxes (1 wired, 2 on WiFi) Hub5 in modem mode with Apple Airport Extreme Router +2 Airport Express's & TP-Link Archer C64 WAP. On Volt 350Mbps, Talk Anytime Phone, x2 Mobile SIM only iPhones.

I'd say power level is too low and QAM should be 4096

Thanks for that.  What should the power levels be at?

I believe (I may be wrong) it should be between -6 and +10 dBmV

I seem to getting more errors but things have settled with the profile

Looks like you have a significant slope on your downstream power levels. You need a forward path equalising attenuator to correct that (engineer visit).

The Modulation Error Ratio on the 3.1 downstream is too low which is why the modulation changes from 4096 to 2048. For the receiving modem to successfully demodulate the 4096 constellation points requires a much higher MER than 35dB.

Hi @Comradebo,

Welcome to our Community Forums and thanks for posting.

Sorry to hear you have been having some problems. I've checked the account and at the time of writing, I have been unable to identify any issues this end. The signal levels are all showing within spec on the live system.

However, our diagnostics have picked up that your WiFi quality could be improved by using Intelligent WiFi Pods.

As you have the Gig1 package these would be free of charge.

Let me know if you would like me to proceed to ordering the Pods for you.
