External wall cable box

I have just had broadband and TV installed today and have noticed that there are no cable boxes on the external walls.  I'm obviously concerned that water will get in through the holes and cause damage.

Any advice to resolve this immediately please?

Re: External wall cable box

A technician needs to go round to fit an omni box. That wall, though, looks rough and I doubt whether a water-tight seal is possible.

Re: External wall cable box

The omnibox I have stands out from the wall so water can actually run behind it. It designed like that so none accumulates on the top. What you need is some clear sealant around the cable.

Re: External wall cable box

Just had a look at my omni box and it's also not a close fit to the wall, just goes to show that you mustn't make assumptions and post wrong information.

Re: External wall cable box

Hi toddy0011,

Welcome to Virgin Media and our Community.

Looking at the pic, we may need to get the entry point a little more protected from the elements.  How is the access point from within the property please?

Let me know and I will be happy to help 🙂

Thanks
