External black fibre optic wire on top of garden not buried

I’ve just been doing my garden and I’ve noticed the black virgin wire is literally just lay on the top of the garden , should it be buried and protected ? It was here from previous household

It sounds as though you may need a rebury appointment to sort any potential issues with exposed cabling outside. It is difficult to confirm if this is exactly as it should be as we can't see your property or cabling. On this basis it's best if we get someone booked out to you to rebury the cable if needed!
