Ethernet cable too short

I've had to move my hub 3 to get better connection speeds upstairs but the cable is to short. Do VM supply longer cables.

Just to clarify @niffniff, we do recommend a Cat7 ethernet cable, but you are free to use whichever suits you best 🙂

Please do pop back and let us know how you get on with your new cable.

Thanks,

Cat7 is more future proof - just in case the orginal poster wanted to upgrade to 1gig perhaps”, rubbish. Cat5e is fine for 1G, I very much doubt VM will be going to 10G in the near future, in any case even Cat6 would be fine for that.

You are correct in that Cat6 will be fine for what most people have in mind, but considering a 1 meter Cat7 cable is between £3 - £4 why not buy the latest standard?

Now if they are running 100's of meters of ethernet cable then Cat6 would definitely be cheaper (and 5e even cheaper), but there's still no problem in using cat7 if they can afford it as it has better immunity to noise.
