Downstream power levels high?

I was just wondering if my power levels are too high, my lowest seems to be 12.5dBmV and the highest is 14.5dBmV. I've looked around and people said the highest should be around 8 or 10?

If they are high what can happen? I haven't had any issues other then occasional slow downs.

Just realised that I posted this in the wrong topic and I don't know how to switch it over or delete it...

Call customer services, you need a technician to adjust your power levels.

Re: Downstream power levels high?

Just an update, I phoned virgin and got pretty much nowhere. I dont think the women on the phone understood what I meant by power levels...she started going on about the current from the wall...

Re: Downstream power levels high?

You are better waiting for a response here as the customer service on the phone is often terrible. However it takes up to a week from the date of your latest post to get a response on the forum, so it might be next Tuesday now.

Re: Downstream power levels high?

Do I have to do anything or is it just a waiting game? I even received a new power supply from them today lol.

It's not like my connection is dropping or I'm getting slow speeds, however the latency is pretty high. I'd just rather the downstream power levels be in spec, they have been as high as 15.

Hi Hascam,

Thanks for confirming your account info via PM Smiley Happy

I've just tested your network and everything looks fine at the moment with regards to your power and SNR levels.

Do you need me to test anything else at the moment?

Talk soon,

Take care.

Re: Downstream power levels high?

Thanks for taking a look, but do we have different readings? Because when I look at the downstream levels they are pretty high (min 11.5 max 14).
